Post-exam holiday with course-mates: arrived at my friend's house at about
4.30pm, which is only 5 minutes from Daymer Bay. Woohoo! non-windsurfing
friends who had arrived a couple of hours earlier and had been down to the
beach said there were quite a few people out so excitedly rushed down to
the beach to see 5 or 6 sailors planing comfortably.
Again perfect wind for my new 7.4 and JP. Very easy flat water conditions
which was good for re-finding my confidence. Pulled off about 50% dry
wobble-gybes and a few small chop-hops. Board is great - v easy to sail -
starting to get used to the best way to gybe it and can see planing exits
being a possibility soon....maybe. Sail felt more comfortable. Fin still
wobbly, though as I write this on the 29th I have now added a couple more
washers which appears to have sorted the problem. I've decided I don't like
my 2nd hand waist harness though, which I can never get tight enough and
hence always rides up more than I think it should. So will try and change
it soon, even though I've only used it 4 times.
Best bit of the whole session: only having to semi-pack up kit at the end
and drive the 5 minutes back to my friends house still in my wetsuit, then
dump everything in the garden for hosing down later on. Hassle-free bliss.
